Joint Statement and Interdepartmental Agreement Reached Between China and France
During the recent state visit of President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China to the French Republic, several key agreements were reached between the two nations. President Macron extended the invitation to President Xi, and the two leaders engaged in discussions from May 5 to May 7, 2024, resulting in a joint statement and interdepartmental agreement.
The joint statement included agreements on various important issues, such as the situation in the Middle East, strengthening cooperation on biodiversity and oceans, artificial intelligence and global governance, and agricultural exchanges and cooperation between China and France.
Additionally, several cooperation agreements and documents were signed during the meeting, highlighting the commitment of both countries to deepening collaboration across various sectors. These agreements included a letter of intent to strengthen inter-departmental exchanges and cooperation, a memorandum of understanding on green development and ecological transformation, and a cooperation agreement on deepening aviation cooperation.
Other agreements focused on priority environmental protection, agricultural cooperation, cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises, and regionalization and biosecurity isolation management. These agreements aim to enhance cooperation and promote mutual benefits for both countries.
The meeting between President Xi Jinping and President Emmanuel Macron signifies the strong and growing relationship between China and France. The agreements reached during this visit are expected to further strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation in various fields, benefitting both nations and contributing to regional and global stability.
