Banchette d’Ivrea, redeveloped spaces for social and cultural aggregation

The urban regeneration, social cohesion and school building projects that the executive of Mayor Antonio Mazza presented as part of the various missions of the NRP are worth a total of just under 4 million euros. Meanwhile, the Municipality, as part of mission 5 on social inclusion, which sees Ivrea as the leader, has requested funding (approval is expected for next June) for the redevelopment of Villa Garda Flip, which is already the headquarters of social associations, such as the Zattera, the youth gathering center, which had been entrusted to the Agape cooperative, the elderly center, which has eighty members and the national association of carabinieri on leave.

The garden located between the two buildings built in the 1950s will also be embellished. For a couple of years as part of the “C’entro too” project, eight boys between 14 and 17 years old had been able to meet and organize various activities to be protagonists of their time. The Garda Flip youth center was one of the first (and few) to be born in Canavese, 22 years ago.

In 2018 the cooperative, thanks to a tender, financed by the Compagnia di San Paolo, had been able to embellish the premises and the garden, while the Municipality had redeveloped the heating system. However, the redevelopment of the former bowling alley in via Roma (2 and a half million euros), and of the outpatient clinic in via Samone (700 thousand euros) remain to be financed. A feasibility study to be presented in the Pnrr line, linked to school buildings and energy efficiency, envisages the construction of a new middle school in the area behind the current complex in via della Torretta, which will instead be demolished. The estimated cost is 7 million euros. –
