The lifeless body of Giancarlo Antonello found in Caorle at the mouth of the Nicesolo

The 82-year-old from Castello di Godego had disappeared a month after leaving the Portogruaro hospital. Rescuers had been looking for him for weeks

CAORLE. It is the body of Giancarlo Antonello, 82, originally from Castello di Godego and resident in Pramaggiore, the one found on Saturday morning at the mouth of the Nicesolo. There had been no news of the man for almost a month, when he had left the emergency room in Portogruaro where he was supposed to treat a small blow to the head. A recent accident, however, which had convinced health workers to be admitted given his age.

The man wore nightwear, goggles, and had a conspicuous patch on his forehead. The carabinieri of the Portogruaro company, 115 and Suem had looked for him; he was also in charge of the program “Who has seen it”.

His body was spotted by passers-by on Saturday mid-morning. On the spot the carabinieri of the provincial command and of the Portogruaro company and the coroner Antonello Cirnelli. The firefighters took care of the recovery of the body.

The man’s family members were informed of the discovery. The Public Prosecutor of Pordenone has also been informed.
