The Milwaukee Bucks brought the Atlanta Hawks down to earth, who had just beaten the Boston Celtics twice in this Saturday’s NBA day that had only three games and in which those from Boston knocked down the New Orleans Pelicans and the Orlando Magic to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Pelicans 92 – 104 Celtics
The Boston Celtics (58-16) avoided losing three consecutive games for the first time this season by beating the New Orleans Pelicans (45-29), who started winning but had a terrible third quarter with only 11 points.
The Celtics’ best player was Jayson Tatum with 23 points and 9 rebounds, while Kristaps Porzingis had a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
For the Pelicans, Zion Williamson stood out with 25 points and 9 rebounds. CJ McCollum surpassed 14,000 points in the NBA after scoring 24 against the Celtics.
The Celtics, mathematically first in the East, are also on the verge of finishing the regular season as the best team in the league, while the Pelicans, despite the defeat, maintain fifth place in the West.
Magic 118 – 88 Grizzilies
The Orlando Magic (43-31) went on to win by +43 in the third quarter against the Memphis Grizzlies (24-50), who in the last minutes of the game were able to somewhat make up the result.
For the Magic, with scoring widely distributed between starters and substitutes, the best was Jordan Goodwin coming off the bench, with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds.
For the Grizzlies, Wendell Carter Jr. stood out, scoring 15 points and collecting 13 rebounds.
Thanks to their victory this Saturday, the Magic maintain fifth place in the East, while the Grizzlies have been mathematically eliminated from the postseason for some dates.
Hawks 113 – 122 Bucks
The Atlanta Hawks (34-40) could not repeat against the Milwaukee Bucks (47-27) the feat of the last two dates, in which they defeated the Boston Celtics, the best team in the league, twice.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had a great game for the Bucks, with 36 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists.
Not so far from the Greek’s numbers was Serbian Bogdan Bogdanovic for the Hawks, who had 38 points and 10 rebounds.
With their victory in Atlanta, the Bucks shore up second place in the East precisely behind the almighty Celtics, while the Hawks are the tenth team in the conference, the last one to qualify for the play-in.
