ROME. Mortality from Covid is 23 times higher among the unvaccinated than those protected with the booster. This is the data contained in the extended report of the Higher Institute of Health. According to what the ISS experts write, the age-standardized death rate from Covid for the unvaccinated is 103 deaths per 100 thousand inhabitants and is 9 times higher than that of vaccinated with a complete cycle for less than 120 days (12 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants) and 23 times higher than that of vaccinated with boosters (4 deaths / 100,000).
The report also highlights: “Although the data of the last two weeks is not yet consolidated, there is a decreasing trend in all age groups 0-19 years of the hospitalization rate”. From the beginning of the epidemic to February 9, 2,528,024 cases in the population 0-19 years of age have been reported to the integrated surveillance system, of which 13,632 hospitalized, 323 hospitalized in intensive care and 44 deaths. The percentage of cases in the school age population 0-19 years old is stable in the last 3 weeks (31% against 32% the week before).
In the last week, 19% of school-age cases were diagnosed in children under 5, 45% in the age group 5-11, 36% in the age group 12-19. The incidence rate in the 16-19 age group has been decreasing for four weeks, while in all the other age groups there has been a decrease only for two weeks.
