by admin

During the Italian night, during the first day of the 2021 edition of the I / O conference, Google dedicated ample space to the news that from the summer will concern the evaluation of the sites, that is the ranking that places them more or less high in the results of Research.

Big G will introduce a new version of its Core Web Vitals, an online page evaluation method based on 3 parameters (loading speed, interactivity and stability), which determine how pleasant a site is to navigate. These are very important parameters for anyone who works on the Internet, from large to small companies, from e-commerce platforms to information sites: the higher you are in the search results, the easier it is for people to click and read.

The example of the Gedi group
To make it clear, Google cited examples of some sites that already try to respect the parameters set by the Core Web Vitals and have seen their performance improve over time: on 2 occasions (an example in the video above, from minute 7: 40) was also named the Gedi group, which publishes some of the main Italian newspapers, from Stampa to the Republic to the 19th century.

According to what was explained, the group’s sites saw the evaluation improve by 70% from the point of view of stability and the so-called “bounce rate”, which measures the time a reader stays on the page, by 8%: they did optimizing the management and automatic resizing of photos, providing fixed spaces for advertising banners and also speeding up loading times.
