At this moment in Italy there are three separate paper documents that would allow you to have the “passport”: the certificate certifying the inoculation of at least the first dose of the vaccine, the negative result of a swab and the certificate of recovery from the SARS virus. But how to enter the “Sesame” platform? The security requirements are absolute, since these are sensitive data such as those relating to health. It is therefore understandable that there is an effective barrier system which guarantees to block intruders but which at the same time does not allow inexperienced people to get by on their own.
You can consult your health record in two ways: via your health card (which, however, must be inserted in a reader connected to the computer) or with your Spid credentials (level 2). Although in recent months many citizens have activated Spid credentials, the procedure is not simple and the entry of credentials itself requires familiarity with IT tools.
The App Io and the Qr code
Despite the difficulties, the individual certificates of vaccinations, swab results and Covid recovery can also be found on the “Sesame” portal (or, in the case of vaccination, directly in the “hubs”). The Government, in view of the “Covid pass”, is however creating a central platform that will be able to collect all the data. The “passport” can be paper or digital. In the latter case, we plan to make the pass available on the “Io” and Immuni ”apps.
The first has already been downloaded by 11 million Italians: given that the citizen has authenticated himself with Spid or with an electronic identity card, he will find the certificate in the app after having had a vaccine, swab or visit. It might even just save the QR code on the device after receiving a notification. But even these procedures require some practice.
How to issue the pass
The other way envisaged by the government to issue the Covid pass appears even more complicated. In fact, it was thought to “resurrect” the much-criticized “Immune” app (which had 10 and a half million downloads). The data, according to what is hypothesized, can be found by entering one of the codes that will be sent or delivered at the time of vaccination, execution of the tampon or certification of recovery. But which codes? One thinks of an OTP “or” Cun “password. Immuni and the site now generate the QR code that can be saved on a smartphone or printed. The QR code will then be read by the police with an appropriate tool. But even this procedure appears somewhat complicated. Elderly people and people not used to using IT tools would be cut off.
