The People’s Liberation Army and Armed Police Force delegation held the second plenary meeting
The People’s Liberation Army and Armed Police Force delegations attending the second session of the 14th National People’s Congress held their second plenary meeting today. The 15 representatives reviewed the government work report and made suggestions on major issues of national defense and military construction.
Everyone unanimously stated that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and is a critical year for achieving the goals and tasks of the “14th Five-Year Plan”. The attendees emphasized the importance of implementing the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the Central Military Commission, as well as the President’s attendance at the second session of the 14th National People’s Congress.
The meeting, hosted by He Weidong, was attended by high-ranking officials including Zhang Youxia, Liu Zhenli, Miao Hua, and Zhang Shengmin.
Representatives from various departments within the military addressed key issues such as strengthening joint combat capability building, promoting national defense science and technology innovation, and optimizing new quality equipment generation models. They also discussed improving the quality of reserve force formation and construction, diligently and frugally building the army, and enhancing grassroots training and war preparations.
The plenary meeting highlighted the importance of deepening reform and innovation, enhancing strategic capabilities in emerging fields, and focusing on achieving the centenary goal of the founding of the army. The attendees expressed their commitment to creating a new era and new journey in the cause of strengthening the military.
