Peak Travel Day as Qingming Festival Holiday Comes to an End

Today is the last day of the Qingming Festival holiday. Wuxi will usher in a peak return passenger flow. Railways, aviation, highways and urban public transportation have refined service measures to increase transport capacity in popular directions to meet the travel needs of citizens.
Travel popularity soars
“Highway, rail and air” increase transportation capacity
Yesterday morning, at the entrance of Wuxi Railway Station, passengers carrying large and small bags were queuing up for security check in an orderly manner. According to the relevant person in charge of the Wuxi Railway Station, the station is expected to send 500,000 passengers during the Qingming Festival transportation period. Wuxi Railway Station has opened 25 additional passenger trains to meet the increased demand. Shuofang Airport has seen an increase in outbound travel, with routes to Vietnam, Macau, Hong Kong, and Osaka being popular choices.
Wuxi Bus Terminal will also experience a peak passenger flow today, with an estimated 13,000 passengers expected. Buses and subways have increased their services to accommodate the higher demand during the holiday period.

During the Tomb Sweeping Day holiday, the demand for travel has increased, leading to crowded subways and buses. The Wuxi Metro has added additional trains to key stations to handle the increased passenger flow. The urban bus system has also increased services to popular scenic spots, making it easier for citizens and tourists to travel.
The traffic police department has implemented measures such as dedicated lanes and signal priority to improve bus travel speed and comfort, encouraging more citizens to choose public transportation for their travels.
