An out-of-course appeal, a sort of new exam for excellent former students, who in the past graduated in Economics in Trieste. It was one of the moments of the day dedicated to the 100 years of the University’s Department of Economics, described as a great appeal.
Among the guests called to talk about current issues, including artificial intelligence, the evolution of the world of work and new technologies, Thomas Baumgartner, president of Fercam Italia, Renata Casaro, head of investor relations at Schaeffeler, Germany, Giancarlo Fancel, country manager Italy and CEO of Generali Italy, Giampaolo Viseri, CEO of Allianz Global Life, Ireland, and Sarah Zoi, Federal Reserve System, USA. Everyone was pressed by questions from Guido Bortoluzzi, full professor of Economics and Business Management.
The afternoon opened with a greeting from Donata Vianelli, director of the Department of Economic, Business, Mathematical and Statistical Sciences of the University of Trieste, and with the speech of Gianluigi Gallenti, president of the Centenario Deams committee.
Following this, the journalist Francesco De Filippo “interrogated” Francesco Magris, professor of Political Economy, on current economic issues. The finale was entrusted to a one-act comedy “Appello… per fuori corso”, in which a professor, played by the actor Adriano Giraldi, ironically welcomed a special student who was out of course, the actress Ariella Reggio.
