Theater Week in Medellín: March 18 to 17

To celebrate International Theater Day, Theater Week will be held in Medellín from March 18 to 27, with more than 100 performances throughout the city.

As part of the celebration, 13 rooms will have free entry with voluntary contributions to support the artists and allow citizens to access the cultural offering. The theaters that have been linked are the Barra del Silencio Theater, Imagineros, Agité Theater, Arlequín y los Juglares Theater, La Pascasia, Canchimalos Cultural Corporation, Teatro Oficina Central de los Sueños, Pablo Tobón Uribe Theater, Popular Theater of Medellín, Cultural Corporation Nuestra Gente, Alianza Francesa de Medellín, Little Theater of Medellín and the Ateneo Porfirio Barba Jacob Theater.

“The union organizations, the city’s Theater Council, Medellín en Escena and the Ateneo Porfirio Barba Jacob, with the support of Comfama and the Mayor’s Office of Medellín, prepared a great program. All this around International Theater Day, which has been celebrated since 1962, through UNESCO and the International Theater Institute, said the president of Medellín en Escena, Jaiver Jurado Giraldo.

The program also includes dramatic readings, conversations, forums, photography, painting and poster exhibitions. The closing will be on Wednesday, March 27, at 3:00 pm in Plazuela San Ignacio.
