Severe Weather Alert: Heavy Rainfall and Snowfall Expected Across the Globe
Domestically, heavy to heavy rains wreaked havoc in parts of Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, and Guangxi yesterday, with localized heavy rains causing concern. The forecast suggests that there will continue to be heavy rainfall in southern Jiangnan, northern South China, and other areas over the next three days. Authorities are warning residents to be vigilant for possible urban flooding, flash floods, and geological disasters resulting from the short-term heavy rainfall. Additionally, there is a persistent rain and snow weather pattern expected in the central and eastern parts of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, impacting the Sichuan-Tibet Railway construction and material transportation.
Internationally, heavy rain and snowfall were reported in central and northern Europe, as well as eastern North America. Northern Europe is experiencing heavy snowfall, while central and western North America are facing heavy rain and snow.
The domestic weather conditions in China include heavy rainfall and strong convection in southern Jiangnan and central and eastern South China. The warning extends from the 6th to the 7th with heavy to heavy rains anticipated in parts of southern Hunan, southern Jiangxi, western Fujian, and central and northern Guangdong. Thunderstorms or hailstorms are also expected in certain regions. Additionally, persistent rain and snow are projected for the eastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
Globally, significant weather patterns are affecting central and northern Europe with moderate to heavy snowfall and localized blizzards predicted. Meanwhile, central and western North America are preparing for light to moderate snow or sleet with potential heavy snow to blizzard conditions.
In the next three days, northern Europe is expected to experience heavy snowfall, while central and western North America will see heavy rain and snow. Officials are urging residents to stay informed and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during these extreme weather events.
