Severe Weather Alert: Blizzards and Heavy Snow Expected in Parts of Xinjiang, Temperature Drop Forecasted for Central and Eastern China
The Central Meteorological Observatory has issued a severe weather alert for parts of Xinjiang, with light to moderate rain, sleet, and heavy snow expected from March 20th to the 23rd. High-altitude areas are likely to experience blizzards and heavy snowstorms during this period.
Additionally, a new round of cold air is set to affect central and eastern regions of China from the 23rd to the 25th. Temperatures are expected to drop significantly, with a 4 to 6°C decrease from north to south and up to a 10°C drop in some areas. The middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and its north will also see a temperature drop of 4 to 6°C.
Detailed forecasts for the next three days include light to moderate snow or rain in northern Xinjiang, southeastern Qinghai, and southern Sichuan Plateau. Heavy snowfall is expected in some areas, with winds reaching level 6 to 7 in coastal regions.
