President Gustavo Petro expressed his concern about the raid on the offices of the Colombian Federation of Educators (Fecode), ordered by the Attorney General’s Office.
During the ‘Actions for Life’ event in El Charco, Nariño, The president stated that this action seeks to find a way to remove him from the Presidency.
«From here I want to express my solidarity with the Fecode union, which was raided; raid on a workers’ organization, seeking to see how the paths are found to remove the President of the Republic from the Presidency. “We are not dealing with anything,” declared President Petro.
The president was surprised that the raids were not directed at mafia organizations who illegally finance politicians, as he always thought, but rather workers’ organizations. “Now it is about workers’ organizations, because the President (of the Republic) is not part of drug trafficking or politicians who allow themselves to be financed by drug trafficking,” he added.
