The National Civil Police reported tonight the capture of a member of the MS 13 who was recorded while demanding “rent” money from a Nejapa merchant who, in turn, reported him on social networks.

This is René Mauricio Rivas Villalobos, alias Seco, 21 years old, who was recorded by his victim who confronted him without fear and recorded him with his cell phone device, and who shared the video tagging the PNC.

The subject, upon seeing that he was being recorded, boasted that he belonged to the MS13 and made gang signs, also challenging the police.

The PNC detailed that the gang member has been extorting sellers and store owners “for years,” and that since the war against the gangs began, he had hidden from the authorities.

“This Monday, in desperation to obtain money, he tried to extort money again, without thinking that now the population is no longer afraid of gang members and they immediately reported him,” the police department said.

Upon receiving the complaint, Intelligence agents tracked and captured him at km 12 ½ of the old highway to Nejapa. «The times when they caused fear in the population are over. “Anyone who tries to take the property of Salvadorans will be sent to jail,” the institution stated.
