The director of the Valledupar Metropolitan Area, Delwin Jiménez Bohórquez, is taking steps to obtain the financing required for the design, formulation and implementation of the tourism plan that this entity will execute in the five municipalities that comprise it.
Thus, within the framework of the Anato Tourism Fair, held recently in Bogotá, Jiménez Bohórquez, accompanied by the development secretary of Valledupar, María Marta Lacouture; officials of the Government of Cesar and leaders of the region’s tourism sector, met with spokespersons from Fontur, the entity in charge of organizing Colombia’s tourism agenda.
At that meeting, the general manager of Fontur, Álvaro Balcazar, and his work team showed complete willingness to finance the structuring of the Valledupar Metropolitan Tourism Master Plan, so it is expected that in the coming months this roadmap will be consolidated as an instrument. to make viable the tourism projects undertaken by the Metropolitan Area.
Jiménez Bohórquez also held meetings with representatives of delegations from several countries interested in doing tourist exchanges with Cesar and thus exploring the various tourist alternatives that can be developed in the jurisdiction of the Valledupar Metropolitan Area.
Meanwhile, through a public statement, the Association of Valledupar tourism managers, Magia Vallenata, thanked the mayor of Valledupar, his government team and the director of the Metropolitan Area, for “the outstanding participation of the municipality and the department of Cesar in the Anato Fair.” They also expressed their interest in working on the positioning of tourism in the region as a common purpose.
