At about 22:00 on October 3,The last monolithic track bed slab of Jingzhai Tunnel has been poured, marking the completion of the construction of the ballastless track slab on the entire China-Laos Railway. The China-Laos Railway starts from Kunming City, Yunnan Province in the north, passes Yuxi City, Pu’er City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, and the China-Laos border port of Mohan to the Laos capital Vientiane, with a total length of more than 1,000 kilometers.
After the opening to traffic at the end of this year, direct transportation from Kunming, Yunnan to Vientiane, Laos is expected to be realized on the same day.
It is understood that the Jingzhai Tunnel has a total length of 9.5 kilometers, a single-track tunnel with a speed of 160 kilometers per hour, and the last “fortress” to be conquered on the entire line. After the completion and opening, it only takes 4 minutes for the train to pass. However, the railway builders have been here for more than 1,700 days and nights.
The railway operation surface of this section has multiple disadvantages such as narrow, complex procedures, high temperature in the tunnel, and difficulty in supply. The railway department organizes the construction unit to reverse the construction period and carefully organize it.More than 500 people and more than 30 large-scale equipment are put in every day, and the operation is rotated 24 hours, and the construction of 168 meters of ballastless track is completed in a single day, setting a domestic construction record.
At present, the China-Laos railway subgrade, bridges, tunnels, and four electric power projects have been completed, the static acceptance is in full swing, the station building decoration is nearing completion, and the main track laying has been 97% completed. The track laying of the domestic section began to sprint for the last 20 kilometers, and the whole line will be laid in October and enter the stage of dynamic acceptance and trial operation.
