Yesterday the Major Division of Colombian Soccer, Dimayor, announced all the details and guidelines about a new season of the 2024 Women’s League. On this occasion there will be 15 teams that will be present and the round-robin format will be maintained. Once again, Deportivo Pereira remains the only team representing the Coffee Region after the absence of Deportes Quindío and Once Caldas.

Game system

A total of 15 dates will be played in which one team will always rest per day. One of the great novelties for 2024 is that the competition will have semi-final home runs, to later experience the grand final that will take place in a round-trip match, similar to what happens in the men’s national football championships.

Start date

The League will begin on February 17 and end on August 18, thus becoming the longest-running women’s competition since its creation. It is worth noting that the final two matches of the tournament will have the VAR tool. Likewise, the champion and runner-up teams will be the representatives of Colombia in this year’s Copa Libertadores Femenina.
