Three people were killed in a tragic forest fire that broke out in Daihua Town, Changshun County, Guizhou Province on April 1, 2024. According to the website of the People’s Government of Changshun County, the fire started at around 15:30 in the Muling Group of Maxiang Village.
Local authorities immediately mobilized town and village cadres to the scene to respond to the fire. However, during the disposal operation, a sudden change in wind direction forced the evacuation of the personnel on site. Tragically, two people lost their lives during the evacuation process, while one person sustained injuries and was rushed to the county hospital. Despite rescue efforts, the injured individual also succumbed to their injuries.
Currently, professional forces from the province, state, and county are working together to extinguish the fire. The situation is reportedly under control, with no major facilities at risk. Evacuated residents have been relocated to safe areas.
