Traditional Via Crucis Mayor de Hernandarias takes place this Friday

The traditional and largest Via Crucis of Alto Paraná takes place in the city of Hernandarias, where thousands of people participate.

The city of Hernandarias is preparing to experience the traditional Via Crucis Mayor, the religious event with the greatest participation in Alto Paraná during Holy Week. On Good Friday, starting at 6:00 p.m., thousands of parishioners will gather to walk a three-kilometer itinerary in an act of deep faith and reflection.

The Via Crucis Mayor of Hernandarias will start from the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, located in Area 6, and culminate at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, in the city center. Along the three-kilometre course, the 14 stations of the Via Crucis will be staged, with the participation of around 120 stationers.

The organization of the Via Crucis Mayor is in charge of the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish, the Nuestra Señora de la Asunción parish, the Youth Ministry of Hernandarias and the municipality of Hernandarias through the Directorate of Education. People from different religious movements from the participating parishes will be in charge of the dramatization of the passion and death of Jesus, using both artificial images and live performances.
