The decision of the Prefecture after the maxi outbreak of 2020. Five hundred free slots every day for the population

TREVISO. A year ago these days, Ulss 2 was struggling with one of the largest coronavirus outbreaks in Italy. At the former Serena barracks, more than two hundred asylum seekers had become infected, some of whom had put the structure to fire and sword when the doctors had notified them of the obligation to quarantine. Even taking swabs, at regular intervals, had become an odyssey, among new positives, protests, health risks.

To avoid another “hot” summer like that of 2020, the Prefecture – in accordance with Ulss 2 – has launched a carpet vaccination campaign in the two large Treviso refugee hubs, Serena di Treviso and Zanusso di Oderzo . And this time no one protested, on the contrary: membership is close to 90% in both structures, those who are missing will be immunized in the coming days.

The project

It was the Prefecture, on Monday, that gave the news of the start of the project. One way to avoid imposing new obligations on management companies, and to check the actual progression of the vaccination campaign in the hubs of the proguhi: “In order to preserve public and individual health and counter the spread of Sars-Cov-2 – says the note of the Prefecture – in compliance with the vaccination campaign adopted by the local health authority aimed at achieving the objectives of vaccination coverage of the population present in the regional territory, the Prefecture of Treviso already in June agreed with the local health company to submit to vaccination for guests of extraordinary reception centers. The importance of including as many people as possible was also highlighted to the managing bodies, overcoming possible communication barriers and any critical issues by virtue of the complexity of the specific context involved “.

Membership

As mentioned, few refused the vaccine injection: “The initiative was positively received in all the facilities, and almost all the guests expressed their willingness to undergo the vaccination”. To date, 89 out of 100 guests have been vaccinated with the first dose at the former Serena barracks, 88 out of 100 at Zanusso di Oderzo. “Asylum seekers absent on the day of administration and therefore not yet vaccinated, will receive the first dose in the next days »explains the Prefecture,« therefore Ulss 2 will go again to the aforementioned structures. It was also recorded that many foreigners, already hosted and no longer in reception, took advantage of the opportunity to go to the barracks to receive the vaccine. The same have expressed the will to proselytize in order to intercept the greatest number of their compatriots ». Other guests remain in widespread reception, not yet vaccinated to date: in this case the health care company has scheduled a new round of vaccinations in the coming days.

Many free places

With regard to the vaccination campaign for the general population, the pressure of Ulss 2 continues on the very young, who today are the preferred target of the virus. There are roughly 500 free places every day, especially in Villorba: this means that if you book today you would find a free place within a few hours. The Green pass effect, however, can be seen: from 22 to 26 July, the share of the population aged 12 to 19 who booked the vaccine went from 43.4 to 48.8%.
