VAL DI CHY It is organized by Gal Valli del Canavese, Comuni della Valchiusella and Hever Edizioni, the appointment on Saturday 7, at 6.30 pm, at Alice’s multipurpose, in Val di Chy, for the presentation of the volumes by Paolo Ghiggio Valle del Manubrio-Men and roads of cycling in Valchiusella, Fausto Coppi-Orthopedic history of a fragile skeleton and Turin province on two wheels, all three published by Hever, the publishing house of Helena Verlucca. An unmissable event not only for two-wheel enthusiasts, but also for those who want to know more and will thus have the opportunity to approach the topic in an absolutely compelling way.

Certainly no introductions are needed for Ghiggio, a doctor-writer from Ivrea, born in 1949, well known not only for having directed the department of Orthopedics and Traumatology for a long time at the hospitals of Ivrea, Cuorgnè and Ciriè, but also as a lover of cycling, both practiced and written, as well as collector and restorer of vintage bicycles. «Turin province on two wheels represents the first part of a work dedicated to cycling in the province of Turin. – explains the author -. This volume just released, with a preface by Diego De Ponti and which avails itself of the collaboration of the journalist Danilo Glaudo, is dedicated to the history of bicycles and factories in the province of Turin, the old manufacturers and resellers of the first “bicycles”, the ancient two-wheeled vehicles, with a disproportionate weight compared to modern bicycles, which have written the history of Turin industry, thanks to the intuitions of eclectic Turin artisans. A section, on the other hand, is reserved for the big names in sports journalism dedicated to cycling. The second part, which will be released in autumn, will instead see the collaboration of the collector Piero Diatribe and will be dedicated to the Turin cycling champions and also to the characters of Ivrea and Canavese who have honored the two wheels ». Alice will be attended, in addition to Ghiggio and the publisher Helena Verlucca, by the journalist Danilo Glaudo, the former cyclist Franco Balmamion, the journalist Franco Bocca and Luciano Debernardi, president of Team Fuori Onda Bike. The proceeds from the sales will be donated to the Piccolo Carro di Chiaverano association, which has been the object of Ghiggio’s attention and generosity for years and never misses an opportunity, not only to make its history and business known, but also to support it as it deserves. –
