Original title: Turkmenistan stressed in the Human Rights Council that Hong Kong-related and Xinjiang-related issues are China’s internal affairs and support the Chinese government’s position

On July 14, the representative of Turkmenistan delivered a speech at the 47th session of the UN Human Rights Council, emphasizing that Hong Kong-related and Xinjiang-related issues are China’s internal affairs and supported the position of the Chinese government.

The representative of Turkmenistan welcomed the overwhelming majority of the Human Rights Council’s adoption of the resolution “Contribution of Development to the Enjoyment of All Human Rights” submitted by China. Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the promotion and protection of human rights. Turkmenistan believes that respect for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of countries and non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign countries are the basic norms of international relations. Turkmenistan adheres to the one-China principle. Issues involving Hong Kong and Xinjiang are China’s internal affairs, and Turkmenistan supports the position of the Chinese government. The work of the Human Rights Council should not be politicized.

At this conference, more than 90 countries expressed their support for China on Xinjiang-related, Hong Kong-related, and Tibet-related issues through joint speeches, individual speeches, and joint letters, and opposed interference in China’s internal affairs.
