Since the beginning of the pandemic, just under 400,000 masks a day have been seized in Italy, 190 million in all fake, flawed pieces, unable to do what they promised: to protect those who wore them from contagion. In eighteen months entrepreneurs with no experience, fixers, politicians, “friends of”, have launched into big business, pocketing figures that leave no room for too many interpretations: 676 people reported, just under 800 administrative penalties already issued for a turnover which, according to estimates by the Finance Police, is close to two billion.
