The Pan-American Architecture Biennial of Quito (BAQ) stands out as the most relevant architectural event in the region, offering a space for dialogue, exchange and reflection on contemporary architecture. Its objective is to promote a dialogue about the crucial role of architecture in the construction and transformation of inhabited landscapes, addressing complex and multi-scalar realities.
Participating in the BAQ becomes an invaluable opportunity to stay updated on new movements in contemporary architecture and reflect on the future projection of this discipline. It is understanding that architecture not only involves designing and building, but also reflecting and dialoguing.
Since 2018, the UIDE has stood out in two key axes of the BAQ:
The academic call that encourages the participation of architecture schools and professionals and the Gold medal competition that recognizes and rewards the best works of students from Faculties and Schools of Architecture in Ecuador.
The ESCAPE has actively participated in various editions of the BAQ, being recognized and awarded for its outstanding performance.
