Two coves with abundant explosive material and weapons belonging to the FARC dissidents were found and dismantled by the Military Forces, one in Putumayo and the other in Norte de Santander.
In the rural area of the municipality of Mocoa, the capital of Putumayo, in the development of a joint operation of the Navy with the National Army and coordinated with the National Police, they located an illegal deposit that contained 651 explosive devices and 12 detonators, in the Alto village Afán, in a rural area of the municipality of Mocoa, department of Putumayo.
These improvised explosive devices, which were hidden in the middle of the thick Amazonian vegetation, were found by troops from the Marine Infantry River Battalion No. 30 of the Colombian Navy and the Infantry Battalion No. 25 of the National Army, which Apparently they belonged to the Residual Organized Armed Group, Structure 48, “Border Command.”
The material was made available to the Attorney General’s Office, who will be responsible for its destruction according to established procedures.
According to the investigations, the explosive devices found would be used in the different areas of criminal interference of the “Second Marquetalia”, with the aim of stopping the advance of military units that carry out control operations in the territory.
On the other hand, in the Catatumbo region, Norte de Santander, at the other end of the country, an illegal warehouse of the 33rd front of the FARC dissidents was located, in which approximately 300 kilograms of explosives, war material, mayor and banners alluding to the group.
Troops from the 30th Brigade of the National Army, Dijín of the Police and the Second Prosecutor’s Office of the Special Task Group, located the cove in the Filo El Pajuil village, in the municipality of Ocaña, in which they also found 3 rifles, a grenade launcher, a pistol, a revolver, 10 40 mm grenades, 10 rifle magazines, ammunition of different calibers, a hand grenade, documents of interest, banners and bracelets from the so-called Ernesto Galvis company of the illegal armed group.
The military report highlights that this action directly affects the armed wing of the FARC dissidents and prevents their criminal actions in the Catatumbo region. The elements were made available to the competent authorities for their respective prosecution. With RSF
