“150,000 Russian soldiers killed”
About 150,000 Russian soldiers have been killed since Russia invaded its neighbor Ukraine in February 2022. French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné said this on Friday in an interview with the European edition of the Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta.
“Russia’s military defeat is already here. We estimate Russian military losses at 500,000, including 150,000 dead,” Minister Séjourné said. That estimate is lower than that of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who said in February that 180,000 Russian soldiers had been killed in two years of war.
In April, the United Kingdom estimated that around 450,000 Russian soldiers had been wounded or killed. Moscow, on the other hand, does not provide information about the number of wounded and dead among its ranks.
