Unit denounces that the CNE violates electoral law by not allowing UNT and MPV to support the candidacy of Edmundo González

by admin

The Democratic Unitary Platform denounced this Sunday night that there is a violation of the electoral law and the schedule approved by the CNE for the presidential elections due to the impossibility of the parties Un Nuevo Tiempo (UNT) and Movimiento por Venezuela (MPV) to attach their cards to the candidacy of Edmundo González Urrutia.

On Saturday, UNT representatives reported to the CNE the resignation of Manuel Rosales as a candidate, a prior legal step to replace him with Edmundo González. However, for the second consecutive day they have not been able to support him to confirm his participation in the presidential elections.

“Both UNT and the MPV have so far not been allowed to formalize their support in favor of the candidacy of Edmundo González Urrutia, which constitutes a clear violation of the electoral law and the approved schedule,” the Unit denounced.

The problem they report is that there is no access to the module on the CNE website to replace the candidate, despite the fact that the Electoral Branch extended the modification period for 72 hours.

“The candidacy of Ambassador Edmundo González on the manito card (MUD) is duly registered and admitted by the CNE. It was not the subject of any challenge and the period for that action ended,” noted the Unitary Platform.

The opposition called on Venezuelans to remain united in the electoral process to achieve political change.

The problem is on the CNE website

Ángelo Palmeri and Diana Rodríguez, representatives of UNT before the CNE, published a video on social networks to record that they have not yet been able to add the candidacy of Edmundo González Urrutia to their electoral card.

“We want to leave a video testimony of what is happening right now. There are some banners in which one can access certain modules; This module is the automated application system. Clicking on it sends us to this page of the official statement of the extension,” Palmieri explained.

However, from the page on which the extension is displayed, it is redirected to the beginning of the CNE website. That is, they cannot access the modifications module.

The entry Unidad denounces that the CNE violates electoral law by not allowing UNT and MPV to support Edmundo González’s candidacy was first published in EL NACIONAL.
