University of Mediterranean Studies – Articles – In memory of the sacrifice of millions of innocent victims

by admin

The Magnificent Rector and the academic community of the Mediterranean participate in the memory of the sacrifice of millions of innocent victims, offering a particular tribute to the academics, scholars and teachers who were victims of the tragic events of the first half of the last century.

A sad page in our history to remember, tell, and reflect on. Because the historical memory of the Shoah does not only concern the Jewish people, but the whole of humanity so that this must never happen again. On Remembrance Day we pay homage to those who were victims of the Holocaust (women, men, children), but also to those who survived, to their capacity for resilience and the courage they showed in telling their unspeakable stories in those places of inhumanity.

Fighting discrimination, supporting inclusion, promoting access to work, knowledge and training represents the University’s best way of combating the many forms and risks of discrimination still present in society today.
