Reinforcements from the entire Fvg to find the 52-year-old tourist who disappeared on Monday afternoon: over 70 rescuers engaged

BARCIS. Maxi-mobilization in Barcis for the research of the French hiker who has now been missing for three days. Over seventy rescuers were engaged in patrols on Mount Laura.

The massive deployment of forces, however, did not bring the desired outcome: the woman has not yet been found.

The 52-year-old tourist from Avignon left at 1pm on Monday for a walk on Monte Laura.

The Swiss friend, but originally from Barcis, with whom she is on holiday by the lake, was waiting for her for dinner. It did not reappear. Shortly after 8pm, on Monday, the friend asked for help.

The searches were concentrated in the vicinity of an unmarked path between Forca Bassa and Casera Cec: an area that is sometimes steep and crossed by streams. Yesterday it emerged that the woman was seen on 13 September on the side of Barcis, where the searches began.

The firefighters deployed 23 men between speleo-alpine-river team (Saf), Tas 2 (specialists in topography applied to rescue), advanced control unit (Ucl), technicians with the “Dedalo” system, which allows to locate cell phones even in the absence of a field, canine units.

Drones and the Drago helicopter from Venice were deployed. Reinforcements arrived from all the mountain rescue stations of the Fvg, for a total of 40 men.

Local connoisseurs of the places, financiers, carabinieri were added. All the paths, detours and traces of animals have been retraced, imagining which direction the tourist would have taken by taking the wrong road, with abseiling in the exposed sections. You are the dog units in the field. At 7 pm the molecular dog of the mountain rescue arrived.

It is tried to understand if the woman had with her two cell phones with German prefix. With Dedalo, the firefighters constantly explored the area in search of the signal.

During the night the garrison with the UCL in Forca Bassa remained active. Tas 2 firefighters worked until dawn to prepare the maps and routes of the areas to be patrolled today. Thanks to the help of GPS, rescuers never risk retracing their steps. In the case of gorges, they descend to explore the cavities.

On Thursday 16 September, searches will resume with even more unity, before the disturbance. The Recco system antenna, offered by AiutAlpin, will arrive from South Tyrol: it will be installed under the Civil Protection helicopter to pick up platelets or electronic devices.
