The government of Alto Paraná signed an agreement with the Universidad Privada del Este (UPE), a Hernandarias subsidiary, within the framework of the Alto Paraná Scholarships program (BECAP-2024), promoted by the departmental institution. On the occasion, the regional head, César “Landy” Torres (ANR), highlighted the fact by stating that, with the signing of this agreement, they are strengthening the program aimed at young people interested in continuing their studies in the tertiary field, he said.

On January 9, the government of Alto Paraná launched the Scholarship Program called “BECAP 2024”, aimed at students from across the department, mainly those who intend to study a university degree; But, they cannot do it because they have limited economic resources.

Based on this undertaking, Torres proceeded to sign the aforementioned agreement with the UPE, Hernandarias subsidiary, with the argument that the BECAP program is being increasingly strengthened, he said.

“With our BECAP program, we are committed to education as the best option for social development. For this reason, we have signed a new agreement with the Universidad Privada del Este, Hernandarias headquarters. An alliance that guarantees that more young people have the opportunity to pursue a university degree,” said the department head.

In total, there are 1,600 places that are available for those between the ages of 18 and 35 years of age. Registration to access the scholarships is still open and will close on the 31st of this month. In relation to those interested parties who reside in areas far from the departmental capital and who do not have electronic means or how to access information, Governor Torres had detailed that they will work with the different municipalities of the department, in order to give opportunities to those young people interested in accessing scholarships.

“We are going to ask the mayors of the different localities to open a space where those interested can be guided and helped to comply with the requirements and, we are even going to ask them to facilitate the use of the internet, so that they can register immediately. electronically. We want all young people to access scholarships. The Scholarship Committee will evaluate the profiles of the applicants and according to the profiles they present, they will be given half scholarships or full scholarships,” the governor had said on that occasion.

This year, the number of scholarships has tripled by purchasing previous years, due to the high demand in this regard. According to the data, the Government offers 500 full scholarships, through the economic contribution consisting of the sum of 3 million guaraníes for each awarded student, which will be made in two payments, with a total investment by the departmental government of G 1,500,000,000 (One billion five hundred million guaraníes). Meanwhile, 1,000 are half scholarships and 100 are also full scholarships, which will be given through alliances and agreements between the government of Alto Paraná and several universities in the department.
