The director of the USL Pescarmona warns: “with this situation, services at risk in the summer”

AOSTA. In the last few days, the Usl dela Valle d’Aosta company has sent 500 letters addressed to as many operators of the Parini hospital who have not yet undergone the vaccine against Covid-19. They all risk suspension from practicing their profession until vaccination is completed or for the whole of 2021.

The law decree n. 44 introduced the obligation to get vaccinated for those who practice the health professions and for health professionals, therefore doctors, nurses, socio-health workers and even administrative staff. In the event of non-compliance, the suspension from duties that involve interpersonal contacts and the transfer to even lower tasks that “do not involve risks of spreading the infection” are triggered. If this is not possible for the entire period of suspension from work, there is no pay.

Among the operators of the Aosta regional hospital who have not yet undergone the administration session there are doctors, nurses, oss and many administrators. About five hundred people in all who will still have a few weeks to get “in good standing”.

“If their positions are not regularized – says the director general of the USL, Angelo Pescarmona – the procedure foreseen by the law decree 44 will be triggered or an ultimatum will be given for vaccination, then there will be an attempt to relocate to other roles and finally the suspension. It is clear – Pescarmona warns – that this situation strongly risks slowing down ordinary hospital activities next summer, with some services at risk “.
