UDINE. Friuli Venezia Giulia, summarizing the concept as much as possible, vaccinates at great speed, taking into account the quantity of doses available, all those who book, but it discounts both the extreme compliance with the provisions on the use of AstraZeneca (and in many ways also by Johnson & Johnson), and a campaign membership package that may be better than the current one.
The numbers, in fact, show that currently over 50% of residents in Friuli Venezia Giulia have obtained at least one dose of vaccine with differences, however, even non-trivial within the individual age groups considered.
The progress of the campaign
There are three regions in Italy which, in chronological order, have exceeded the 50% quota of their citizens covered with at least one vaccine administration: Molise, Campania and, as mentioned, Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Our region, in particular, reached this ceiling on Friday evening and, indeed, if we take into consideration only those who are over 12 years old – that is, those who, according to current regulations, can be vaccinated with one of the drugs approved by Ema and Aifa – it reaches the threshold of 54.7%, against a national average which is expected at 52.3%.
On the other hand, the discourse relating to recalls is different. Friuli Venezia Giulia, in this case, is at 24.3%, that is more or less one and a half points less than the Italian average, but in this case several variables must be taken into consideration.
The first, for example, leads to the fact that in these latitudes the open day with AstraZeneca and, above all, Johnson & Johnson, respecting the ministerial recommendations without exception.
The second, on the other hand, recalls the consideration of how the bulk of the recalls with mRna vaccines have been moved, also in this case according to the indications of Rome, between 30 and 42 days and, therefore, between the end of June and the beginning of July. , at least for the younger age groups.
Individual age groups
According to the data published daily by the commissioner structure, on Sunday 13 (afternoon) in Friuli Venezia Giulia 862 thousand 954 doses had been administered out of the 943 thousand 368 delivered in the region equal, therefore, to a use of 91.5%, net of 30 thousand more that the Health Department has asked to anticipate the vaccinations of those who have booked between the end of the month and the beginning of July.
The Region needs at least another 200,000 bookings to be added to the current 677,000 to achieve herd immunity – expected in the first week of September if current rates are maintained – and for this reason it is planning to have people vaccinated in the localities. and to open also to the 12-16 range, but in the meantime it has completed coverage of 85.91% of over 80 residents.
Attention, however, because this age group is vaccinated with mRna drugs – and in the vast majority of cases with 21-day recall, that is, before the change of dates decided by the Ministry of Health -, while those between 70 and 79 years old and between 60 and 69 mainly uses AstraZeneca.
Given the 12-week recall for this vaccine – and net of non-excellent adhesions among 60-year-olds – it is therefore not surprising that the complete vaccination course was completed by only 23.77% of those with 70 and 79 years and 26.47% of those who are, however, between 60 and 69.
Even in Veneto zero deaths
Meanwhile, on Sunday 13th, in Friuli Venezia Giulia, out of a thousand 678 molecular swabs, 8 new infections were detected (one of which concerns a migrant hosted in Trieste) with a positive percentage of 0.48%.
There are also a thousand 406 rapid antigenic tests carried out, from which 3 cases of contagion were detected (0.21%).
Overall, therefore, we are talking about 11 infected who, compared to 3 thousand 84 tests carried out, draw an average positivity rate of 0.35%.
On Sunday, moreover, no deaths were recorded – like the Veneto where it had not happened since August -, while the hospitalizations in the Intensive are currently 4 (+1) and those in the medical area 8 (-4). –
