VITTORIO VENETO. He had told the carabinieri that he had suffered uin prey to Mestre, but it was all made up. Behind the lie, the need to get drugs. So he got into trouble a 22 year old from Vittorio Veneto, now accused of simulating offenses and raised alarm. The story began when the young man, towards the end of last January, had presented himself at the barracks of the Vittoriese Arma to report a robbery that would have taken place a few days earlier in Mestre.
He had told the military that aSome unknown Maghrebi men had threatened him, holding a switchblade knife. All to have his smartphone, watch and cash in his pocket delivered. Nothing true, those objects had actually sold them to get drugs.
The story had appeared not very credible. The young man allegedly said that he even managed to get the Sim card contained in the stolen phone back from the criminals. The investigations carried out in Mestre did not give any useful feedback to the investigations, while from subsequent investigations on the “stolen” cell phone, the carabinieri discovered that, after the alleged robbery, the device was in use by a foreign subject residing in Cimadolmo.
Not only. Following an inspection carried out at the home of the latter, the military discovered that the telephone had been regularly purchased in a specialized shop in the Treviso area. The retailer in turn confirmed that the smartphone in question had been regularly sold to the boy from Cimadolmo and that the two objects, some time before, had been sold to him by the young man who had reported the robbery.
The well-founded suspicion of the military is that the boy falsely reported the robbery to “cover up” the sale of cell phones and smart watches and use the money raised to purchase drugs. Put together all the elements obtained from the investigations, in the end the carabinieri of Vittorio Veneto reported him to the judicial authority for the crimes of simulation of a crime and also of procured alarm. –
