Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with visiting Bolivian Foreign Minister Sosa in Beijing on Sunday, April 28th, where they discussed the strong relationship between the two countries.
Wang Yi emphasized the importance of the 40th anniversary of China-Bolivia diplomatic relations in 2025 and expressed China’s willingness to deepen cooperation in various fields. He highlighted the need for continued political trust, governmental exchanges, and cooperation in new areas such as digital economy and green development.
Both ministers agreed on their shared opposition to power bullying and commitment to fairness and justice. They also discussed the importance of multilateral strategic coordination and cooperation on global initiatives.
Bolivia views China as a key strategic partner and expressed interest in strengthening economic and trade cooperation. Sosa welcomed Chinese investments in Bolivia to support the country’s industrialization process.
The two countries signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between their foreign affairs academies following the talks.
This meeting is part of a broader diplomatic engagement between China and Latin American countries, with Argentine and Peruvian foreign ministers also visiting China at the invitation of Wang Yi.
