Lignano is one of the Carinthians’ favorite holiday resorts and is very well visited every year. However, a fire broke out in a restaurant in the early afternoon.

As Italian media report, a fire broke out in the roof area of a restaurant in Lignano this afternoon. High clouds of smoke could be seen from far away. At the time of the fire, there were also people in the restaurant, which was currently being renovated. Two people are said to have been injured in the fire, and a security area has also been set up around the scene. The adjacent hotel also appears to have been affected – it has been closed until further notice.
