Xi Jinping Leads Party Leaders in Voluntary Tree Planting
On April 3, Xi Jinping, along with other party and state leaders including Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qiding, Xue Xiang, Li Xi, and Han Zheng, participated in voluntary tree planting activities in Lucheng Town, Tongzhou District, Beijing. The event aimed to encourage all citizens to contribute to building a greener and more beautiful China.
During the tree planting event, Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of afforestation, especially during the spring season when the land is full of vitality. He called on everyone to take action and become green messengers and ecological pioneers, contributing to the construction of a beautiful China where nature and humans coexist harmoniously.
The leaders, along with the local cadres and masses, planted a variety of trees including Chinese pine, cotinus, maple, cherry, red-leaf betau, and Platycladus arborvitae. Xi Jinping also interacted with the young pioneers present, encouraging them to develop a sense of respect and love for nature from a young age.
Xi Jinping highlighted the significance of continuous afforestation efforts, especially in light of the challenges posed by environmental degradation. He emphasized the need to expand, develop, and protect greenery across the country, focusing on quality and efficiency to achieve ecological, economic, and social benefits.
Furthermore, Xi Jinping stressed the importance of mass participation in greening initiatives, calling for innovative forms of responsibility and the mobilization of all forces to solidify voluntary tree planting efforts.
The tree planting activities were attended by members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, members of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, and State Councilors, demonstrating the leadership’s commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
