The Peking-Tianjin Battle Memorial Hall: Remembering the Victory

The Peking-Tianjin Battle Memorial Hall in Hongqiao District, Tianjin, stands as a solemn reminder of the great victory achieved in the Peking-Tianjin Battle. The memorial hall, completed and opened in July 1997, serves as an important venue for promoting patriotism and revolutionary traditional education.

Comprising of Victory Square, Main Exhibition Hall, Multi-dimensional Demonstration Hall, and Military Park, the memorial hall provides a comprehensive display of the historic battle.

The main exhibition hall is divided into six parts, including the prologue hall, campaign decision-making, campaign implementation, people’s support, heroic achievements, and the ultimate victory.

The Battle of Pingjin, which took place from November 29, 1948, to January 1949, was the last of the three strategic decisive battles of the War of Liberation. Lasting for 64 days, the Battle of Pingjin concluded with a successful outcome for the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, marking a significant turning point in the conflict.

The memorial hall, through its displays and exhibits, serves as a constant reminder of the sacrifice and bravery of those involved in the historic battle, allowing visitors to absorb the power of advancement and honor the continuous red blood shed for the cause.
