Yang Wei: The truth revealed by Wang Yi and Wang Xiaohong’s foreign visits | Munich Security Conference | Ukraine | Taiwan

Chinese Communist Party Foreign Minister Wang Yi recently attended the Munich Security Conference in Germany, following a visit to Europe by Public Security Minister Wang Xiaohong. Wang Yi’s attendance at the conference was described as low profile, and he faced embarrassment and doubt during the China Issues Forum where he unexpectedly admitted that Taiwan was a legacy of the “civil war.”

The CCP’s propaganda has downgraded its tone, only claiming to be a “stabilizing force” in international affairs, with a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stating that Wang Yi’s participation in the Munich Security Conference was to “explain China’s propositions.”

During his speech at the China Issues Forum, Wang Yi admitted that Taiwan is a legacy of the “civil war,” acknowledging the fact that the mainland and Taiwan still belong to two different regimes. This admission has sparked international attention and raises concerns about the CCP’s intentions regarding Taiwan.

At the conference, Wang Yi also touched on the issue of the Russia-Ukraine war but did not condemn Russia and continued to make general remarks promoting peace and talks.

Similarly, Public Security Minister Wang Xiaohong met with U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Mayorkas, asking the United States to stop “interrogating Chinese students,” lift visa restrictions, and not list China as a “major source country of drugs.” This is seen as a move by the CCP to set up obstacles for cooperation with the United States.

The CCP’s presence at the Munich Security Conference was an attempt to avoid international isolation, but its poor performances have only served to leak the truth about its intentions and have further exposed its weakness and helplessness in the face of international scrutiny.

Overall, the CCP’s attendance at the Munich Security Conference has only heightened concerns about its behavior on the international stage, and its attempts to downplay its presence have only backfired, making it increasingly regarded as an alternative in the world.
