The candidates for the legislative and regional elections of the UNIR party in the prefecture of Kpélé expressed their gratitude to God on May 5 for the smooth running of the electoral campaign and the double ballot on April 29. It was through religious services which took place in the presence of Yawa Tsègan, party executives, activists and sympathizers.

These moments of prayer are a way of saluting the smooth running of the legislative and regional elections held recently. “This remarkable success, marked by the peace and stability maintained throughout the electoral process, pushed us today to come and give thanks to God for his goodness and faithfulness,” commented the general treasurer of the UNIR party, Yawa Tsègan. “As a candidate for the Union for the Republic party in these elections, it is on behalf of our great party that we gather here at church to express our gratitude to God for his blessings. We also implored the blessing of the Almighty on the entire Togolese nation, on all its sons and all its daughters and also asked for peace and lasting stability,” she added.

It was also an opportunity to “implore God’s protection over the life of His Excellency Mr. President of the Republic, and asked God to always be at our side, guiding our actions and inspiring our decisions for the good of our dear Togo.”

The provisional results announced by the CENI give the UNIR party, on behalf of the electoral constituency of Kpélé, 2 seats out of 2 for the legislative elections. The final results will be announced by the Constitutional Court in the coming days.
