The 21-year-old girl, originally from the municipality of San Agustín, Huila, is part of the 39 women who accepted the challenge of serving the people of Huila.
In an emotional discharge ceremony, recognition was given to the bravery, dedication and discipline of soldier Yudy Alexandra Tovar Cerón, who stood out as part of the first female contingent who, after 25 years, once again assumed the responsibility of safeguarding the Homeland through military service.
The 21-year-old girl, originally from San Agustín, Huila, She was awarded the Juan Bautista Solarte military medal, in a special ceremony in which she was accompanied by her loved ones. Tovar Cerón took on the challenge of being part of the 39 women of the Combat Support and Services Battalion No. 9 Cacica Gaitana of the Ninth Brigade, marking history and demonstrating the power of women in roles traditionally associated with men.

Since his childhood, Tovar Cerón dreamed of wearing the uniform of the National Army, motivated by the desire to contribute to the progress and well-being of her native land. His commitment to the security of Huila and determination to serve the country were exemplary, and now, as a non-commissioned officer of the National Army, he continues his life project in the institution that he considers the best in the country.
During her farewell to this stage, soldier Tovar Cerón invited young people between 18 and 24 years old, both men and women, who have not yet defined their military situation, to accept this important challenge. She encouraged people to value each day of life, their loved ones, and to work hard to achieve each proposed goal, highlighting the enriching experience that military service provides.
