Zhejiang Province Launches Cochlear Implant Charity Relief Project on National Hearing Day

On March 4th, Zhejiang Province held a large-scale Hearing Day publicity event to raise awareness about hearing disabilities and provide support for those in need. According to surveys, there are currently more than 20 million people with simple hearing disabilities in China, with the incidence of bilateral deafness in newborns reaching 0.1%-0.3%.

To address this issue, the Zhejiang Disabled Persons’ Federation and Hangzhou Disabled Persons’ Federation organized educational activities at the Zhejiang Rehabilitation Medical Center. The theme of this year’s Hearing Day was “Technology to assist hearing, sharing a better life.”

As part of the event, the “Music and Love” cochlear implant charity relief project was launched. This initiative, initiated by the Zhejiang Provincial Disabled Persons Welfare Foundation and Zhejiang Rehabilitation Medical Center, aims to provide support for 100 hearing-impaired children across the province. Parents of hearing-impaired children who meet the requirements for assistance can call 0571-86457519 during working hours for consultation.

This charity relief project aims to improve the lives of children with hearing disabilities and provide them with the support they need to thrive. The launch of the project on National Hearing Day highlights the importance of raising awareness about hearing disabilities and the impact they can have on individuals and families.

The event was covered by the Metropolis Express, with correspondent Jiang Yan and reporter Shen Li providing coverage. Editor Gao Tingting emphasized the significance of the project in helping those in need and promoting a more inclusive society for individuals with hearing disabilities.
