Zhong Suisui Sends Wreaths to Commemorate Zong Qinghou

In a touching gesture, Zhong Suisui, China’s richest man and founder of Nongfu Spring, sent wreaths to commemorate Zong Qinghou, founder of Wahaha Group. The memorial service for Zong Qinghou was held on February 28, 2024, at the Wahaha Xiasha Production Base in Hangzhou.

The relationship between Zhong Suisui and Zong Qinghou dates back to when Zhong Suisui was the agent of Wahaha Province. The two became competitors over the years, with Zhong Suisui acknowledging that the opportunity for Nongfu Spring was left by Zong Qinghou.

During an interview, Zhong Suisui revealed that the success of Nongfu Spring was made possible by Zong Qinghou. The journey began in 1991 when Zhong Suisui became the agent of Wahaha Oral Liquid in Hainan and Guangxi. However, it was in 1996, during an inspection at Qiandao Lake, that Zhong Suisui fell in love with the clear water quality and decided to make Nongfu Spring the “porter of nature.”

Currently, Nongfu Spring boasts twelve major water sources, and Zhong Suisui has been named the richest man in China for the third consecutive year since 2021, with a net worth exceeding 450 billion yuan.

The gesture of sending wreaths to commemorate Zong Qinghou highlights the respect and gratitude Zhong Suisui has for his former competitor. The legacy of Zong Qinghou lives on through the success of Nongfu Spring.
