Hallesche FC suffered another defeat at 1860 Munich. Particularly bitter: Despite an appealing performance from the Saalestadt team, it was ex-HFC player Guttau who scored the decisive goal. Despite the sixth game without a win in a row, Hallesche FC remains in a non-relegation zone, but benefited from the mistakes made by the competition. However, the lead is still only one point over the endangered zone.
HFC head coach Sreto Ristic changed his starting lineup to two positions compared to the 2:3 defeat against Erzgebirge Aue. Niklas Landgraf came into the team to replace Jannes Vollert, who was suspended for a red card, and Tom Baumgart started for Timur Gayret (suspended).
Guttau hits Halle in the heart
The hosts started energetically and put the HFC under pressure. After a few minutes, however, Halle was able to free itself from the pressing. Nevertheless, there was a cold shower for the guests in the 17th minute: Julian Guttau, who was born in Halle, curled a free kick from 18 meters directly over the wall into the net to give Munich the lead.

Despite the deficit, the Ristic team kept looking for its chances on the offensive. Julian Eitschberger had the best opportunity to equalize in the 30th minute with a direct shot near the halfway line, which Lions keeper David Richter just managed to deflect onto the post. Two minutes later, HFC goalkeeper Philipp Schulze on the other side prevented the score from making it 0-2 with a strong reflex after Fynn-Luca Lakenmacher had shot free-standing from close range. So the HFC went into the break with a 0-1 deficit.

HFC too harmless after the break
After the change, the HFC became more dominant. Dominic Baumgart had another good chance to make it 1-1 in the 52nd minute, but his volley from ten meters whizzed past the left post. While Munich subsequently retreated more and more and waited for a counterattack, Halle continued to try to equalize. However, the necessary precision was usually lacking. So it was a narrow but ultimately deserved defeat.
