The New York Yankees suffered a tough 8-7 defeat against the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday, but it wasn’t all bad news as Aaron Judge delivered a home run that will be remembered throughout the 2024 Major League season.
Despite his slow start to the season, Judge displayed signs of awakening his offensive power with a thunderous hit during the game. In the third inning, with Anthony Volpe on base and Juan Soto hitting a hit, Judge stepped up to Home Plate and on the first pitch from Guardians’ Logan Allen, he smashed a 114 mph pitch into the left-center field stands for a 450-foot home run.
Although Judge’s impressive display wasn’t enough to secure the win in extra innings, with the Yankees ultimately falling to the Guardians, the series ended 2-1 in favor of New York.
This season, Judge now has three home runs, nine RBIs, and a .214 average in 56 plate appearances. Despite the loss, Judge’s remarkable home run is definitely one of the highlights of the game.
