Florence, 9 August 2021 – Tragedy of the road in the province of Udine: a family from Florence destroyed. A 59-year-old man and daughter of 10 they died in an accident in Amaro, a town in the province of Udine. The other three members of the family were injured. One, a child, another of the victim’s children, was transported by helicopter rescue to the hospital in Trieste. His conditions are serious. The conditions of another son and a 29-year-old cousin are less serious. However, they too were transported to the hospital.
It would have been of a head-on collision took place on Monday afternoon. The car in which the family traveled, una Ford C-Max, she ran into a truck. The driver of the heavy vehicle, a 42-year-old, was unharmed. The accident happened around 3.30pm. The scene of the accident is dramatic: the car was partially stuck under the heavy articulated lorry, owned by a company in Rivignano, in the province of Udine.
The accident occurred near an intersection, but it seems that the two vehicles did not exit the intersection itself but were proceeding in both directions of the regional road 52 Carnica, the artery where the accident occurred.
The alarm was immediate given by the lorry driver: despite being in shock it was he who immediately took care of the injured and gave the very first aid while waiting for 118. He intervened with three ambulances and a helicopter, which then transported the now seriously ill child to Trieste. At the scene of the accident also the local police, the carabinieri of the mobile radio group of Tolmezzo and the fire brigade. Who extracted the five from the sheets. There was nothing to be done for the man and the girl. Extensive rescue and vehicle removal operations. The road has been closed for a long time.
Leading, according to the reconstructions, was the deceased man. The three children, aged 14, 12 and 10, one of whom died, were in the back seat.
The incident occurred near the village of Amaro, a town of just over 800 inhabitants located on the banks of the Tagliamento river about 45 km from the capital Udine.
To understand the causes of the tragic accident: or a distraction, or one of the drivers has fallen ill. The truck driver, as mentioned, is still unharmed. The certainty is that one of the two vehicles has invaded the opposite lane. Hence the clash.
