She won the women’s race at the memorial dedicated to her father-in-law Dino, the second stage of the Giro della Provincia. Sprinter Passi triumphs in the youth category
VOGHERA
Over 250 competitive cyclists honored the memory of Dino Menini, a rider from Voghera who died prematurely, whose memorial was valid as the second stage of the Giro della Provincia organized by Csi Pavia. His son Andrea also had to compete (he wears the Varzi colors and was one of the favorites of the race) but an illness, perhaps due to his emotion, stopped him. Instead his wife Adriana Bagnoli Menini, also riding for years with the Varzi jersey and passionate, like the whole family, of competitive cycling, brilliantly won the ladies’ race with Rosella Bazzarello (Media Bike Sannazzaro) third overall.
Entertainment in the most awaited race of the day, the one reserved for the youth group: all attempts to escape during the 62 km of track were all useless, punctually punished by the most accredited sprinters who also monopolized the final tussle. with a winning sprint by Daniele Passi, master-2 of 1983, from Bergamo from Calcinate and reigning Italian champion of the category. The Lnc sprinter Jolly Wear, already first seven times this season, got the better of the Milanese master-4 Alberti Tota. First of the Pavesi at the finish line Giuseppe Scuderi, fourth overall, Sannazzaro master-4 in Quinto al Mare jersey; immediately after, two standard bearers of Varzi: Luca Dalla Pietà and Irish Cacace Marco Conti, ninth overall, and Giorgio Rapaccioli were also in the top ten of the race.
The Giro della Provincia will be in Dorno on 7 May with the third stage. Meanwhile, today Acsi Pavia is organizing the Città di Garlasco trophy; first departure at noon. –
