Norwegian Arsenal footballer Frida Maanum has had no apparent heart problems identified after she collapsed in the League Cup final.
After the incident last Sunday, the 24-year-old underwent several examinations and extensive tests under the supervision of two leading cardiologists, Arsenal announced on Thursday (4/4/2024). Maanum received a device to monitor heart function.
Carried off the pitch on a stretcher
She will gradually return to training, which will initially be carefully monitored. Only then can a decision be made about a comeback. The midfielder had to cancel her participation in the Norwegian national team’s upcoming European Championship qualifiers against Finland and the Netherlands due to ongoing investigations.
Maanum collapsed without any outside influence in injury time in the League Cup final, which Arsenal won 1-0 against Chelsea. She then had to be treated on the field for minutes. She was eventually taken off the field on a stretcher. Her club later gave the all-clear and said Maanum was in a stable condition.
