It is important that inside Madrid they do not consider the fact that Mbappe decided to stay at PSG to be a big problem. The club is not happy with the way and the approach that the player and his family took: they used Real Madrid for their own purposes. Perez is going to fight this.
No superstars this summer
In the beginning, Real Madrid planned to bring in Mbappe as a package with Erling Haaland – but the Norwegian had to be turned down because of Karim Benzema’s megastar form. Erling feared that the Frenchman would prevent him from playing in the core lineup and Kylian would take the spotlight. “Man City caught up in time and talked Haaland out of sitting at Borussia for another year and waiting for his dream, which is exactly the plan Perez followed.
It didn’t work out with Mbappe either. Now Real Madrid must concentrate on their own players: immediately after Kylian’s refusal, Marca rolled out the first news that the club is already negotiating a contract extension with Rodrigo. Ancelotti believes that Rodrigo has not yet reached his peak and could soon become a world-class player.
Madrid’s priority is to extend Vinicius’ contract. The club is charmed by the dedication and commitment of the Brazilian, he has had an incredible season and deserves a salary increase.
