Having finished the championship in second place in group A of men’s Serie B behind Acqui Terme, the Alto Canavese starts tomorrow, Saturday 7 May at 6 pm, the playoffs to move up to A3 in the next season.

Opponents of the cuorgnatesi are the Bergamo players of Scanzorosciate, a team that arrived in first place in group B. A very important challenge to be won if possible without giving sets to the opponents, in view of the return, scheduled in seven days in Lombardy. In fact, in the event of a victory each, the regulation provides that the team with the highest number of points in the double confrontation will enter the final (3-0 and 3-1 are 3 points for the winning team, 3-2 the loser gets 1 point and the winner 2). If the situation is equal between the round trip we will proceed with the golden set, an additional partial that will be like the tie break: instead of up to 25 points, we will only go up to the fifteenth point (but, as always, with a difference of at least two points).

Captain Claudio Avalle is ready for the playoff semifinal, as he explains: «On Monday and Tuesday we saw the videos of our opponents. They are a team that has very few weaknesses – explains Avalle -. They are strong and compact in all roles and also in the fundamentals they are very fast and technical. It will not be easy to get the pass for the final, we took the worst opponent – says Avalle -. On Saturday I will then meet a former teammate of mine, the central Damiano Valsecchi, with whom I shared the experience in Lugano, in the Swiss Serie A and I know what kind of contribution he can give to the team, which has been coming here for three years. and has the declared goal at the beginning of the season to make the leap in the category ».

The Alto Canavese trained on Monday, Tuesday and finally yesterday, Thursday 5 May, as Avalle further explains: «We trained aiming not to let Scanzorosciate always play, that is, with great precision in every fundamental. The contribution of the whole team will be needed to try to go to the final: whoever plays will have to give their all, but also whoever takes over during the work will have to be mentally determined and concentrated not to make mistakes that can favor the opponents – explains Avalle – . We trained on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and on Saturday we will be ready for the match, certainly the pressure will be more on their side, this is an advantage for us ».

In the other playoff semifinal, tomorrow at 5.45 pm, Saronno and Acqui Terme will face off in Lombardy, with a return to Alessandria in a week. On Saturday 21 and 28 May, the final will be played and the winner will go to A3. –
